Fr James leaves for Lourdes in the early hours of Thursday morning, leading a group of pilgrims from the UK. Pope Leo arrives on Saturday evening for prayers at the Grotto, with Mass for 150,000 pilgrims on Sunday morning and the Torchlight Procession on Sunday evening. 

 

Next Sunday: There will be a Mission Appeal by Fr William Crombie M. Afr. on behalf of The Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers). The Missionaries of Africa are an international Roman Catholic Missionary Society of priests and brothers devoted to witnessing to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Africa and among Africans, wherever they may be.

 

Afternoon Tea: The SSVP will be hosting an Afternoon Tea on Monday 28th Sept, 2pm-4pm – Food & Drink. 

If interested please put your name on the list on the table in the porch.

 

Cancer Research UK Coffee Morning, Saturday 26th September, 10:30am-12:30pm, St Joseph’s Church Hall. Tickets £3.50 (includes tea/coffee and a cake or scone). Children free. Raffle. Tombola. Cake & Candy stall.

 

 

Burntisland Community Suppers: Volunteers required Kitchen assistant (needs hygiene qualification) and front of house roles. This will enable the group to be ready for a full winter season of Saturday suppers. See poster in porch.

 

Quarterly African Mass in Fife: All parishioners and visitors are warmly invited to join us for our inaugural quarterly African Mass. Come celebrate our faith together with vibrant liturgy and music. Sunday 20 September, 2:00pm prompt, St Margaret’s Catholic Church, Dunfermline.  Light refreshments will follow in the parish hall after Mass. All are welcome!

 

This Sunday - Venerable Margaret Sinclair Pilgrimage: The annual pilgrimage takes place on Sunday 20 September at St Patrick's Church in The Cowgate, Edinburgh. Schedule: 12:30pm - Sale of candles & goods, refreshments; 1:30pm - Holy Hour (exposition and benediction); 3:00pm - Reflection from Canon Jock Dalrymple; 4:30pm - Mass celebrated by Archbishop Cushley (Homilist: Fr Michael John Galbraith).

 

Season of Creation Thanksgiving Mass: A thanksgiving open-air Mass will take place at Old Inzievar House in Oakley, Fife, KY12 8HA, on Sunday 27 September at 11:00am. Families especially welcome. The Beginning Experience: The loss of a loved one through separation, divorce or death, is one of life’s most traumatic experiences. It can result in unbearable feelings of grief and loneliness. The Beginning Experience, Scotland Team, would like to help. A weekend away for a lifetime of change to be held at Conforti Centre, Coatbridge, 16-18 October.
